About Me -Niranjana S

Hi I am Niranjana S, writer, photographer and videographer behind this website. Born and raised in South India, I have a great passion for blogging.I want to live my life without stress and worries, I don’t need to be rich or famous, I just want to be happy. Some believe in destiny, some believe in fate but I believe happiness is something that we create. I always love to live a life without any regrets. Everybody has a desire and I am just over here because I love blogging.

Like every girl, I didnot enter the kitchen till I was in my college. My grandfather who is 93 plus now, was running a hotel for 55 years. So always there is a discussion about food at home. And for festivals like Diwali, we make all the sweets and savouries together at home.  Always boondhi ladoo and mixture will be in the list for Diwali apart from other things. These are made in bulk for distribution. My family always love to give a personal touch in the gifts we give to our friends and relatives. So there is no question of buying it from outside. So I was grown up in a surrounding where the importance is given for the food we make, food we distribute. In this way, always I had an interest in cooking and from childhood days I used to explain the recipes like they do on television. This gave me nickname as Junior Mallika Badrinath. Apart from that I  watch many cookery shows with my amma and Paati.  If I find something very interesting, I would try that and post in facebook. Later I had an interest to learn cooking from my mother and grandmother. Trying something at home posting in facebook  became  my hobby during holidays. Whenever I posted on facebook, I got a lot of appreciation and many would ask for the recipe.  This encouraged me to learn something new always.  Also amma will distribute the dishes I made with her office colleagues and neighbours. Most of the time I have got positive feedback.  One among them who tasted my recipes is brother’s school teacher who is also my mentor. He asked me why cant I share the recipes with the world. This is how I started writing a  blog. Before wedding, I was doing this for fun and after my wedding I took blogging seriously because I have an opportunity to cook daily and for ever meal. I try the dishes couple of times and if it comes out well I will post the recipe for the same.  My blog is a pure Vegetarian one and it has many traditional recipes, my favourite North Indian Cuisine and some Chaat items. I gained my knowledge in South Indian cooking from my mom and grandmom. For baking, North Indian recipes, Starters I learnt from the classes I attended. And some recipes are from my friends, neighbours and relatives. So the recipes are original and not copied from any website. I thank each and every one who contributed the recipes for my blog. I have also shared information about the festivals and the recipes made on those days.Later I also started YouTube channel in which I share the recipes in both English and Tamil with English subtitiles. Pl click the link to watch my YouTube channel- https://www.youtube.com/user/niranjana.bt89 .Now I want to try many baked snacks which consume less oil. So the experiment is mainly on it.There is a world for each one of us, where we shall reign as king /queen by just being ourself.
Find that world… In fact, that world will find us. So Be yourself!!!!!
Recently my recipes got published in Vikatan’s Aval Kitchen magazine – July, August and November 2019 issue.
