Niranjana Sankaranarayanan_Superduperkitchen

Hello and Welcome to Super duper kitchen- Niranjana’s Yummy yummy recipes. I am Niranjana Sankaranarayanan, writer, photographer and videographer behind this website. Born & raised in a small town Mettupalayam in Tamilnadu, I am a Biotechnologist by qualification. I have a great interest for cooking, drawing and singing. Everybody has a passion and I am here because I love to try cooking something new and share with the world.

My Family

My grandpa who lived till his 96 years was running a hotel for nearly 55 years. And my grandma and mom cooks daily food and my dad is keen in making different sweets and papad. So always there was a discussion about food at home. And for festivals like Deepawali, we make all the sweets and savouries together at home. Boondi ladoo and Mixture are the two items that will be there for sure every year. These are made in bulk and distributed to our relatives and friends. Always my family members love to give a personal touch in whatever we give others. So there is no question of buying it from outside. I was grown up in a surrounding where the importance is given for the food we make and distribute. In this way, always I had an interest in cooking and from my childhood days I used to explain the recipes like they do on television.

Birth of Super duper kitchen

Like every girl, I did not enter the kitchen till I was in my college. I was grown up eating our traditional food that is made in our home by my grandma and mom. But my craving to eat something different from what is made at my home started when I was in my college. That’s when I started watching many cookery shows and collecting recipes from my friends.  If I find something very interesting, I would try that and post in Facebook. Later I started getting  interest to learn cooking from my mother and grandmother. Trying something at home posting in Facebook became  my hobby during  college holidays. Whenever I posted on Facebook, I got a lot of appreciation and many would ask for the recipe.  This encouraged me to learn something new always.  Also Amma will distribute the dishes I made with her office colleagues and neighbours . Most of the time I have got positive feedback.  One among them who tasted my recipes is brother’s school teacher who is also my mentor. He asked me why cant I share the recipes with the world. This is how I started writing a  blog. The name of my blog was chosen by my brother. Yes, he named it as Super Duper Kitchen.

Before & After wedding

Before wedding, I was doing this for fun and after my wedding I took blogging seriously because I have an opportunity to cook daily and for ever meal. I try the dishes couple of times and will post the recipe if it has come out well. My husband was supportive to send me to various cooking classes and he waits patiently until I click the photos for my blog.

What you can find on my blog

My blog is a pure Vegetarian one and it has many traditional recipes that can be made on a daily basis by newly wed, bachelors,  my favourite North Indian Cuisine and some Chaat items. I gained my knowledge in South Indian cooking from my mom and grandma. For baking, North Indian recipes, Starters I learnt from the classes I attended. And there are also some recipes which I have collected from my friends, neighbours and relatives.
So the recipes are original and not copied from any website. I thank each and every one who contributed the recipes for my blog. I have also shared information about the festivals and the recipes made on those days.

My YouTube Channel

Later I also started YouTube channel in which I share the recipes in both English and Tamil with English subtitle. Pl click the link to watch my YouTube channel- https://www.youtube.com/user/niranjana.bt89 . Now I want to try many baked snacks which consume less oil. So the experiment is mainly on it. There is a world for each one of us, where we shall reign as king /queen by just being our self.
Find that world. In fact, that world will find us. So Be yourself!!!!!
In 2019, my recipes got published in Vikatan’s Aval Kitchen magazine – July, August and November 2019 issue.
