Keep the stove turned on until you get 9 to 11 whistles.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-13352-step-0-5\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Now turn off the stove and once the pressure is released, open the cooker and remove the cup that we placed to avoid spillage of milk.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-13352-step-0-6\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">The colour of the milk &amp; rice mixture would have become pink from white.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-13352-step-0-7\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Now add the sugar, ghee and elaichi powder.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-13352-step-0-8\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Stir it well so that the sugar gets dissolved completely. The payasam thickens once it cools down.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-13352-step-0-9\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Creamy, pinkish colour traditional payasam is ready to serve.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-13352-step-0-10\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">Serve hot or chill it and serve.<\/div><\/li><li id=\"wprm-recipe-13352-step-0-11\" class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction\" style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\"><div class=\"wprm-recipe-instruction-text\" style=\"margin-bottom: 5px;\">You can also add cashews and raisins after frying it in the ghee. It should not become a coarse or fine powder. Keep it aside.<\/li>\n<li>In a tall vessel add milk and the crushed rice into the milk.<\/li>\n<li>place a small cup or a plate into the milk vessel so that the milk will not spill out when it is getting cooked.<\/li>\n<li>Place the weight and cook the rice and milk mixture in low flame.<\/li>\n<li>For the above quantity the first whistle will come approximately after half an hour. Keep the stove turned on until you get 9 to 11 whistles.<\/li>\n<li>Now turn off the stove and once the pressure is released, open the cooker and remove the cup that we placed to avoid spillage of milk.<\/li>\n<li>The colour of the milk &amp; rice mixture would have become pink from white.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Now add the sugar, ghee and elaichi powder.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Stir it well so that the sugar gets dissolved completely. The payasam thickens once it cools down.<\/li>\n<li>Creamy, pinkish colour traditional payasam is ready to serve.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Serve hot or chill it and serve.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">You can also add cashews and raisins after frying it in the ghee.
