He along with the navanatha siddhars developed the Tamil Language and the Tamil medicine-Siddha medicine. \u00a0I am going to share the medicinal property of cumin seeds and some of the medicines made using it. I came to know about this through a Television programme in tamil and would like to share it also with whoever cant follow tamil. Hope it will be very useful.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Cumin seeds- Seeragam<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Botanical name of Cumin seeds is \u00a0<em>Cuminum cyminum. <\/em>Before naming<em>,T<\/em>amil people analyse the importance and uses of that product. \u00a0Seeragam is a literary translation of cumin seeds in tamil. Seeragam= Seer+ agam, seer means good or best or something that is clear and agam means inside. So seeragam helps in the functioning of endocrine glands properly. It has a chemical compound called cumine which has numerous medicinal properties.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qxSPWBc02pY?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-GB&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Medicinal properties<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Helps to fight against the diseases.<\/li>\n<li>Helps in fast healing of wounds.<\/li>\n<li>It has anti-cancerous properties.<\/li>\n<li>Anti carminative and helps in curing gastric problems.<\/li>\n<li>It is also anti- microbial, anti-fungal.<\/li>\n<li>Due to its Anti &#8211; spasmodic property, it relieves us from the pain that occurs in various parts of our body.<\/li>\n<li>When a teaspoon of cumin seeds is chewed, it removes the germs present in the teeth and also strengthens the gums. Also it is remedy for bad breath.<\/li>\n<li>It is hepato protective and act as a coolant.<\/li>\n<li>It helps in increasing the haemoglobin level and clears the blood.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It can be included daily in food. <a title=\"Paruppu rasam\" href=\"http:\/\/superduperkitchen.wordpress.com\/2012\/12\/05\/paruppu-rasam\/\">Rasam, South Indian soup<\/a>\u00a0is a dish that contains Cumin seeds, pepper, curry leaves and tamarind. It has a lot of medicinal value. Whenever i have cold and fever, I take this . But many people hate this recipe and has stopped making this at home regularly. \u00a0Also my mom makes seeraga paal (Cumin seeds milk) which is very good for the health. I will try to add that recipe very soon in my blog.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Medicines<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Soak the cumin seeds in lime overnight. Dry and powder it.
