It falls\u00a0 on the ninth day from Ugathi. Usually in Hindu culture ashtami (the eighth day from full moon day or no moon day) and Navami (ninth day from full moon day or no moon day) are inauspicious days. People wont celebrate any function on these days.<\/p>\r\n<p>So Lord Vishnu said in one birth he will born on ashtami and that is Lord Krishna. In another birth he will born on navami and that is Lord Rama. In this way we started celebrating gokulashtami on the birthday of Lord Krishnan. And we celebrate Rama Navami o the birthday of Lord Rama. During this day people make Neer mor or Sambaram, paanagam and kosumalli to offer it to Lord Rama. Moreover since this comes during Summer season, consuming Neer mor (Spicy buttermilk), Paanagam and kosumalli. This will also cool one&#8217;s body and helps in hydrating. The festival is a part of the spring Navratri, and falls on the ninth day of the bright half (Shukla Paksha) in the Hindu calendar month of Chaitra. This typically occurs in the Gregorian months of March or April every year.<sup id=\"cite_ref-lochetefeld562_5-0\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup>\u00a0<sup id=\"cite_ref-hck2017_6-0\" class=\"reference\"><\/sup><\/p>\r\n<p>The day is marked by Rama Katha recitals, or reading of Rama stories including the Hindu sacred epic\u00a0<i>Ramayana<\/i>. Some Vaishnava Hindus visit a temple, others pray within their home. Charitable events and community meals are also organized.
