This is one of the most nutritious food and can easily be digested. They are rich in proteins, calcium, iron. It helps to keep the body cool. \u00a0It is not season bound and\u00a0\u00a0cultivated throughout the year. The grain cannot be polished due to its teeny-weeny size.So they retain their nutrients.\u00a0But the healthy recipes out of this have been forgotten in modern kitchen. \u00a0We will have ragi koozh(both spicy and sweet) once in a week. \u00a0Ragi koozh is also called as &#8220;Poor man&#8217;s food&#8221; since it requires only few ingredients which are easy to get and cheap. Moreover it is healthyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/superduperkitchen.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/11\/dsc00591.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"i-3426\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"http:\/\/superduperkitchen.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/11\/dsc00591.jpg?w=800\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>INGREDIENTS<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Ragi (Finger millet)flour &#8211; 1 cup<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Jaggery &#8211; 1 cup<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Water &#8211; 2 cups<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Ghee &#8211; As required<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Measure the jaggery and dissolve it in a glass of water.<\/li>\n<li>Strain it to remove the dust.<\/li>\n<li>Mix the ragi flour in the remaining water without forming lumps.<\/li>\n<li>Then add the dissolved jaggery to this and pour everything into a pan.<\/li>\n<li>Add ghee and elaichi powder to this mixture.<\/li>\n<li>Switch on the stove, stir continuously keeping it in medium flame.<\/li>\n<li>Add ghee and sprinkle water if required.<\/li>\n<li>The mixture thickens and starts leaving on the sides from the pan.<\/li>\n<li>At this stage, pour this on a greased plate.<\/li>\n<li>Serve hot.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ragi is the common name for Finger &#8211; millet in South India.
