You can also add vegetables to make it more delicious and nutritious.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align:center;\"><em><a href=\"http:\/\/superduperkitchen.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/08\/img_3623.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"i-2609\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"http:\/\/superduperkitchen.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/08\/img_3623.jpg?w=800\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/div>\n<div><em>INGREDIENTS<\/em><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Samba Sooji \u2013 2 cups<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Onion &#8211; 1<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Shredded coconut &#8211; 1\/2 cup<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Water \u2013 4 cups<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><strong>For tempering<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Oil \u2013 2 tbsp<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Urad dhal \u2013 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Channa dhal \u2013 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Curry leaves \u2013 few<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Red chillies \u2013 2<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Salt \u2013 As required<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-align:center;\">Measure the samba ravai and water and keep it aside.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Now add oil and splutter mustard seeds. Once they crack, add channa dhal and urad dhal. When they turn brown, add red chillies and curry leaves.<\/li>\n<li>Now add the onions and saute until they turn golden brown.<\/li>\n<li>Add water, salt and allow it to boil.<\/li>\n<li>When they start to boil, add samba ravai and mix without forming any lumps.<\/li>\n<li>Continusly stir so that they donot stick to the bottom.<\/li>\n<li>Add shredded coconut \u00a0and then mix well.<\/li>\n<li>Finally add the coconut oil to enhance the flavour and also to make upma soft.<\/li>\n<li>Serve it with sugar or any pickle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Note:\u00a0<\/strong>If you are not going to add onion, add asafoetida.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wheat Rava is also known as Godhumai Rava or samba rava in tamil and dalia in hindi &amp; is an excellent source of fiber and is also low in cholesterol.Wheat\u00a0\u00a0Rava Upma is a simple and healthy breakfast.
