When the rava is not roasted, the upma will be sticky and when it is over roasted, then the taste is spoiled.<\/p>\n<div class=\"jetpack-video-wrapper\"><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KUUZyxH7yiQ?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-GB&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/div>\n<p><em>INGREDIENTS<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Sooji -1 cup<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Water &#8211; 2\u00a01\/2 cups<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Onion- 1 finely chopped(optional)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Salt- To taste<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>For tempering<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Coconut Oil &#8211; 2 tbsp<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Mustard seeds &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Urad dhal &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Channa dhal &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Curry leaves &#8211; few<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Ginger-1 tsp<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Green chillies &#8211; 2<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Measure and roast the sooji in the pan and keep it aside.<\/li>\n<li>Now add oil and splutter mustard seeds. Once they crack, add channa dhal and urad dhal. When they turn brown, add green chillies, ginger and curry leaves.<\/li>\n<li>Add water, salt and allow it to boil.<\/li>\n<li>When they start to boil, add sooji and mix without forming any lumps.<\/li>\n<li>Continusly stir so that they donot stick to the bottom.<\/li>\n<li>Add coconut oil now and then to add flavour and also to make upma soft.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Note:\u00a0<\/strong>You can add onions if necessary.
