It is an accompaniment for rice, sambar and rasam and are also packed with nutrients. We can make plain curry in so many ways. But vazhakkai podimas or Plantain podimas is different from the vazhakkai varuval\/mezhukkuperatti and everyone likes it. Many Kerala recipes like Molagootal, mor kootan, mezhukkuperatti, aviyal, etc., use plantain in them.<\/p>\n<p>We can cook the raw banana to make Vazhakkai podimas in two ways. One is we can cut it into half and then pressure cook it in high flame for one or two whistle or we can cut it into half and boil it in water.
