It can be made during rainy days and goes well with hot rice and pappadam.<\/p>\n<p><em>INGREDIENTS<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Tamarind -Lemon size<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Jaggery &#8211; 2 tsp<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Salt- As required<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><strong>For grinding<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Curry leaves &#8211; 5 arcs<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Peppercorns &#8211; 4 tsp<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Channa dhal &#8211; 4 tsp<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Urad dhal &#8211; 4 tsp<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Coriander seeds &#8211; 4 tsp<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Red chillies &#8211; 4<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Hing \u00a0&#8211; A pinch<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><strong>For seasoning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Mustard seeds &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Channa dhal &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Urad dhal &#8211; 1 tsp<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Curry leaves &#8211; few<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/superduperkitchen.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/02\/img_3398.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" id=\"i-1260\" alt=\"Image\" src=\"http:\/\/superduperkitchen.files.wordpress.com\/2013\/02\/img_3398.jpg?w=800\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Soak the tamarind in water and extract juice.<\/li>\n<li>In a kadai, add 1\/2 tsp oil and add the ingredients given for grinding and fry them till golden brown.Allow it to cool.<\/li>\n<li>Now grind the ingredients with 2 tbsp water. It should not be too watery.<\/li>\n<li>Heat the pan and add oil. First add the mustard seeds and once it sputters, add channa dhal and urad dhal. Once they turn golden brown, add the curry leaves.<\/li>\n<li>Add the tamarind juice, ground paste, jaggery and stir well.<\/li>\n<li>Allow the gravy to cook for few minutes until it reach thick consistency.<\/li>\n<li>Serve with hot rice and pappadam.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align:left;\">\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Milagu kuzhambu is a spicy and tasty gravy.
