Lachcha Paratha

Lachcha Paratha is a popular North Indian flatbread known for its unique layers and crispy, flaky texture. Made with whole wheat flour, Lachcha Paratha is rolled and twisted to form thin layers that puff up beautifully when cooked. It’s a versatile bread that pairs perfectly with a variety of dishes, from rich gravies like paneer butter masala to simple dal. Whether for a festive meal or an everyday treat, Lachcha Paratha adds a touch of indulgence to your plate.

How to Make Lachcha Paratha

The signature layers of Lachcha Paratha are created by repeatedly rolling and folding the dough with ghee or oil. This technique ensures that each bite has a deliciously crispy and flaky texture. The paratha is then cooked on a tawa (griddle) until golden brown, with a drizzle of ghee to enhance its flavour.

Serving Suggestions

Lachcha Paratha is perfect for soaking up rich gravies and curries. Serve it alongside dishes like paneer tikka masala, chicken curry, or dal makhani for a complete meal. It also pairs well with yogurt or a side of pickles for a quick and satisfying snack.

Tips for Perfect Lachcha Paratha

  • Use soft, pliable dough to create thin, even layers.
  • Applying ghee or oil generously while folding helps achieve the perfect crispiness.
  • For a healthier option, use less oil and try whole wheat flour for a nutritious twist.

Lachcha Paratha is a must-try for anyone who loves the combination of crispy layers and soft, flavourful bread!
